The Growth Equity Blog was created in 2014 by Derek Pilling, Founder and Managing Director of Workhorse Capital, a Denver, CO-based growth equity firm.
The Growth Equity Blog is intended to be a resource to entrepreneurs who own and operate growth-stage businesses. There are plentiful resources available to early stage entrepreneurs and venture capital backed companies. These resources focus on topics of interest to early stage businesses and the entrepreneurs who run them. While there will be some overlap between the topics covered by the Growth Equity Blog and venture-capital focused resources, The Growth Equity Blog is designed to tackle issues that are no longer start-ups, but are nonetheless poised for significant growth including businesses which have been bootstrapped by their founding entrepreneurs. It is as hard (and in some cases more difficult) to manage a business through a growth phase than through modestly increasing, flat or even declining revenues. It is a lot more fun too!
We intend to address issues including debt and equity capital formation strategy, strategic planning, investor dynamics, Board composition and management, growth hacking, organization design and leadership and many other challenges faced by businesses that are scaling at a rapid pace.
We encourage you to be a part of The Growth Equity Blog community. We encourage you to submit questions and topics you wish us to address in an email to Growth Equity Blog Questions.
